Abstrakt		Basic principles of medical rehabilitation (MR) of the patients, treated with external fixation as a definitive method, which are of utmost importance for the optimal possible end-result, are discussed in this article. The methods of physical medicine, used in the rehabilitation programme, are presented. Team approach in creating MR programme and special role of the surgeon, who knows the key data, essential for safe and successful rehabilitation, is pointed out. The physiatritian is activated in the discussion about the choice of the optimal method of fixation.
