Abstrakt		Lake Cerknica is conditioned by several karst and surface flows. These two types differ in many aspects. Water temperature of karst flows is higher in comparison to surface flows in winter, but the situation is just the opposite during summer. The aim of our research was to find out the influence of water temperature and level water fluctuations on abundance of macrophytes in Lake Cerknica and its tributaries. Macrophytes of three sites of Lake Cerknica and three tributaries were monitored during winter period. It was evidenced that water temperature and water level fluctuations affected abundance and appearance of macrophytes. In tributaries wider environmental assessment (RCE invetory) was performed in order to determine their vulnerability. The stretches flowing trough the more pristine areas. Both topics were used as a basis for lessons for elementary school.
