Abstrakt     In this work, the results of galactographic examinations of 145 patients with pathologic breast secretion are presented. Galactography was made on patients who had undergone cytologic examination in which carcinoma was previously suspected, patients with partly bloody or bloody secretion from the breast or a long-lasting secretion from the breast regardless of its colour and of the presence of microcalcifications on mammograms. Infections of the lactiferous ducts of the breast was confirmed as the cause of pathological secretion in the majority of patients. This kind of diagnosis was registered in 56 (38,6 per cent) patients. Intraductal papillomas were confirmed in 23 (15,9 per cent), while a cyst of the breast was confirmed in 18 (12,4 per cent) patients. In 9 (6,2 per cent) patients, intraductal carcinoma was confirmed as the cause of secretion, most frequently sangineous. This finding shows that galactographic examination is irreplaceable for the diagnosis of intraductal tumors, and therefore it is fightly considered the most favourable method for the early detection of intraductal carcinoma
