Abstrakt		The purpose of this work was to find the differences in mortality between alcoholics and non-alcoholics according to disease groups and sex. For that purpose two groups were formed: an experimental group of dead alcoholics, and a control group of dead non-alcoholics. In order to compare their mortality according to the disease groups and sex the tables according to the ICD (9th revision, 1975) were made. A difference in mortality between alcoholics and non-alcoholics according to disease groups was found. Alcoholics, male, female and total, died more often than non-alcoholics, male, female and total, in the most of compared disease groups. That assures us that alcoholics are more endangered and that they die from many different diseases, in comparison with other members of the population
