Abstrakt     In the amnionic epithelium of 14 wild pig fetuses 2.5 months old some morphological characteristic and the histochemical activity of alpha-glycerophosphate, glucose-6-phosphate, glutamate, lactate, succinate, beta-hydroxybutyrate and isocitrate dehydrogenases as well nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide-phosphate transelectronases (alpha-GPDH, G1-6PDH, GLDH, LDH, SDH, beta-HBDH, ICDH, NADH2 and NADPH2) were investigated. Amnionic epithelial cells are flat, polygonal with straight or indented borders, with one or occassionally two oval nuclei. Among the epithelial cells there are single big completely vacuolized cells, the so-called "belt" cells. The activity of investigated oxidative enzymes is present in the epithelial and mezenchymal cells but of different intentsity. The activity of GLDH, G1-6-PDH, ICDH, NADH2 and NADPH2 proved strong, of alpha-GPDH and beta-HBDH moderate to strong, of LDH moderate and of SDH weak. These activities were usually weaker in mesenchymal than in epithelial cells
