Abstrakt     The experiment included 19 head of cattle to which by a single intramuscular injection a tiamulin dose of 10 mg/kg body mass was applied. The tiamulin concentrations in the blood sera and edible tissues (the liver, heart, kidney, and muscles) were determined by a microbiological method. The tiamulin concentrations in the bovine blood sera proved to be the highest between the first and the third hour following the application of this antibiotic. After the third hour the concentration goes down up to the 96th hour when a very low tiamulin concentration was recorded. Significant differences in the decrease of the tiamulin concentration were found between the third and the sixth hour following application (P less than 0.01 and P less than 0.001). On the fifth day after a single intramuscular tiamulin application five head of cattle were sacrificed. The edible tissue did not contain tiamulin, nor were any tissue irritations observed at the tiamulin application site
