Abstrakt		In the majority of countries of the Western world, the carcinoma of the skin ranks highest for its incidence. As 80% of all skin carcinomas develop on the face, the functional and aesthetic sequelae of the treatment are of paramount importance for the patient. Among several treatment options, surgery and radiotherapy are considered as treatment of choice. The main treatment aim is optimal cure with least possible functional and aesthetic damage. Inner canthus of the eye is an anatomically complex region, offering slim chances for a radical excision of tumour with no undesired functional or aesthetic sequelae. The cure rates after radiotherapy and surgery are very similar, except that functional and aesthetic sequelae of radiotherapy are less mutilating. In my experience, radiotherapy is the treatment of choice for skin carcinoma of the inner canthus of the eye.
Izvleček		Karcinom kože je v večini dežel zahodnega sveta na prvem mestu po incidenci. Ker se 80% vseh karcinomov kože nahaja na obrazu, so posledice zdravljenja, tako funkcionalne kot estetske, za bolnika zelo pomembne. Načinov zdravljenja je več, glavna sta kirurško in obsevalno. Namen zdravljenja je ozdravitev s čim manjšimi funkcionalnimi in estetskimi posledicami. Anatomske posebnosti področja pogosto omejujejo možnost radikalne odstranitve tumorja brez posledic. Verjetnost ozdravitve z obsevanjem je enaka kot z operacijo, funkcionalne in estetske posledice so običajno manjše. Menim, da je obsevanje zdravljenje prve izbire pri tumorjih na koži v notranjem očesnem kotu.
