Abstrakt     The purpose of the study was to determine the normal range of the electroretinogram (ERG) response parameters of given recording conditions. 20 healthy volunteers (at the age of 17 - 25 years) were included. ERG was recorded at three different stimulus strength settings (0.1, 0.2, and 0.6 J) and with two different stimulus triggering frequencies. The results were subjected to parametric statistical analysis. Mean values of latencies for wave a were in the range of 23.3 ms (at the stimulus strength 0.6 J) to 35.7 ms (0.1 J), and for wave b from 38.3 ms (0.6 J) to 58.5 ms (0.1 J). Mean values of amplitudes were for wave a from 63.1 uV (0.1 J) to 219.2 uV (0.6 J), and for wave b from 357.6 uV (0.1 J) to 236.2 uV (0.6 J). A very high percent variation from the mean amplitude was established and varies from 24.54% to 38.46%. Latencies showed less than 11.43% variation. The established procedure was tested on a group of patients with Retinopathia pigmentosa and the results were compared with those obtained in healthy subjects.
