Abstrakt		Background. The pathogenesis of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment, risk factors and clinical picture are presented. Mechanisms of origination of different retinal holes and ruptures are described as well as the examination of the patient suspected to have retinal detachment A review of a different surgical techniques for that kind of retinal detachment is given with special emphasis on scleral buckling procedures, pneumatic retinopexy and Lincoff Kreissig balloon. Conclusions. Because of very good anatomical and functional success and low number of complications, minimal surgery (scleral buckle, pneumatic retinopexy, Lincoff balloon) remains the method of choice in the treatment of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment
Izvleček		Izhodišča. V članku so predstavljeni patogeneza regmatogenega odstopa mrežnice, dejavniki tveganja in klinična slika. Opisani so mahanizmi nastanka različnih lukenj in raztrganin mrežnice, tehnika pregleda bolnika s sumom na regmatogeni odstop mrežnice ter operativne tehnike, ki pridejo v poštev pri tovrstnem odstopu. Poseben poudarek smo namenili t. i. klasičnim operativnim tehnikam, tj. skleralnim plombam (eksoplant), pnevmatski retinopeksiji ter Lincoff Kreissigovem balonu. Zaključki. Minimalna kirurgija (eksoplant, pnevmatska retinopeksija, Lincoff Kreissig-balon) ostaja zaradi izredno visokega anatomskega in funkcionalnega uspeha, predvsem pa minimalnega števila zapletov metoda izbora v zdravljenju regmatogenega odstopa mrežnice.
