Abstrakt     Slovenian occupational therapy has a long lasting tradition of following the development of the occupational therapy in the world. In countries like Canada, United States, Denmark, Netherlands and Sweden, occupational therapists treat clients suffering from stroke in medical environment but also in patients home, wider social environment and community. Occupational therapy in this countries is directed by and harmonised with ICF classification of World Health Organisation. Modern occupational therapy stresses client-centred practice, which stands for a deeper meaning of quality, nature and relation between the therapist and the client in the process of occupational therapy. Holistic view enables inclusion ofpurposeful activities in all views of life, therapeutical media are different life occupations and roles, which are significant for life period of an individual client.
