Abstrakt     Patients with ST segment elevation acute coronary syndromes (ACS) require urgent transportation to nearest interventional center where percutaneous coronary intervention can be performed in order to re-open their occluded coronary artery. Patients with non-ST elevation ACS can be managed, stabilized and evaluated in regional hospitals. High-risk patients can then be reffered for early or postponed invasive therapy according to their clinical course. There are five basic therapies now recommended: aspirin, clopidogrel, heparin or enoxaparine, beta-blockers, and nitrates. Additional treatments for high-risk patients are invasive strategy and GPllb/Illa inhibitors.Advantage of immediate invasive approach over catheterization 24-48 hours after admission has not yet been convincingly proven.
