Abstrakt		Search for an optimum accounting system for hospitals financing system is a complex task, which is a concern of many countries. During the last decade many counrries have implemented a hospitals financing syscem based on diagnostic groups - DRG. Slovenia joined this trend two years ago by implementing its own DRG model named the Groups of comparable cases - SPP. In comparison with other accounting systems this system provides transparent and to the work content adjusted allocation of financial resources among hospitals, but does not stimulare overproduction of health services. The main weakness of DRG is that it requires a lot of work and time for preparation for implementation. The problems and deficiencies, which appear during the preparation for implementation phase should be regularly artalysed, solved and eliminated.
