Abstrakt | The fly agaric (Amanita muscaria) and the panther (Amanit pantherina) cause ibotenic syndrom. The deadly nightshade (Atropa belladona) and the jimson weed (Datura stramonium) cause anticholinergic syndrome. The symptoms of ibotenic and anticholinergic syndroms are confusion, agitation and hallucinations. Patients with fly agaric and panther poisoning can be effectively sedated with benzodiazepines. A sedation of patients with deadly nightshade and jimson weed poisoning is more effective and safer with physostigmine. | |
