Abstrakt		The survival of a patient is to a great extent dependent on immediate and appropriate decisionmaking of the doctor on site. This is of the greatest importance with life-threatening cases, which include hyperkaliemia as well. In the described case, an 80-year old female patient is presented, who was found in cardiac shock due to bradycardia at the arrival of the doctor. The cause of bradycardia was not known. The bradycardia did not respond to atropine and the doctor decided to use external pacemaker. The pacient was upgraded to hemodynamically stable condition and out of danger.
