Abstrakt		The author describes the characteristics of rheumatic pain in the elderly. Certain rheumatic diseases are more frequent in the elderly, in others the course of the disease is different from that in younger rheumatic patients and the rheumatic diseases which are typical for oId age, are briefly described. further on, it is emphasized that to diagnose the rheumatic disease which causes pain is very important. Otherwise, the relationship between the doctor and patient can be difficult and problematic. The therapeutic approaches to the elderly with rheumatic pain are summarized and the special problems in medical treatment, which should be thoroughly considered, are listed as well.
