Abstrakt		At the Clinic for surgery and ophthalmology at the Faculty of veterinary medicine in Ljubljana, in the years 1975 to 1990, 27.681 animals were exam ined and treated; among them about 11 per cent had eye diseases. In this paper the species, breed, age of the patients, diagnosis, therapy and the results the treatment have been described. A comparison with literature shows that the diagnoses of eye diseases are not yet uniform and that we employed de scriptive diagnoses, too; one can see the need for international standardiza tion of the diagnoses of eye diseases. An analysis of our diagnases shows a certain oscillation in the frequency of some diseases annually as well in longer periods. The therapy of eye diseases is also changing; this depends primarily on the drug market offer.
