Abstrakt		Traumatic dissection and/or rupture of the thoracic aorta is a common and frequently fatal injury mainly resulting from sudden decceleration in motor vehicle accidents. Patients survival depencls on early and accurate diagnosis and prompt surgical intervention. Although chest radiography is useful as initial screening test, the diagnosis of aortic dissection required confirmation by thoracic aortography, transesophageal US and/ or computer tomography before surgical procedure.
