Abstrakt		One of the important areas in the current European Commission Community Action Program on Public Health for 2803-2008 is health information and knowledge. The main objectives of this part of the program are consensual development of comparable information on heath and availability of information on program implementation and results. Priority tasks include development of human health indicators, development of data collection and dissemination methods, and use of health information. This part of the program will cover the following fields of infarmation: on people's behaviour regarding health (lifestyle and other health determinants), on diseases (incidence and methods of monitoring chronic diseases), on health systems (indicators of medical care availability, its quality, human resources and financial capabilities of health systems).
