Abstrakt		The year 2001 marked the beginning of a series of monthly lectures and workshops organized by the Botanical Garden in Ljubljana to the benefit of the general public. Our current activities aim at attracting a yet larger number of visitors to our Garden and instilling into them the need to protect plants and their habitats. The foremost goal of the workshops organized for children was to acquaint them with the plant kingdom, so that particularly town children might develop a better feeling for plants by planting themselves and afterwards taking the pots home.
