Abstrakt     The electrochemical behaviours of Cu-xZn alloys and Cu and Zn metals were studied in a slightly alkaline borate buffer solution, pH = 9.2, with and without the addition of aggressive chloride ions accross a wide concentration range. Various electrochemical techniques were used in the study and the results were discussed, considering both the metal/oxide and the oxide/electrolyte interfaces. In alkaline chloride solutions Cu-xZn alloys and Cu and Zn metals suffer from pitting corrosion. It was found that the general properties of Cu-xZn alloys resemble those of copper more than those of zinc. With increasing zinc content in the alloy ehe characteristics of zinc become more pronounced.
Izvleček     Preučevali smo vedenje zlitin Cu-xZn in posameznih kovinskih komponent v rahlo alkalni raztopini boratnega pufra, pH = 9,2, z dodatkom agresivnih kloridnih ionov in brez njih v širokem koncentracijskem območju. Pri delu smo uporabljali različne elektrokemijske metode in rezultate diskutirali upoštevaje fazno mejo kovina/oksid in oksid/elektrolit. V prisotnosti kloridnih ionov so zlitine in kovini podvržene jamičasti koroziji. Lastnosti zlitin Cu-xZn so bolj podobne bakru kot cinku. Ugotovili smo, da s povečanjem vsebnosti cinka postajajo bolj izrazite elektrokemijske lastnosti kovine cinka.
