Abstrakt     Radiotherapy is a treatment of choice for a large variety of tumours, using ionizing radiation to achieve proper tumour control. The subject of the thesis covers a part of conformal radiotherapy. The main purpose of conformal radiotherapy is to irradiate a clinical target with very high doses, while the healthy tissue is spared as much as possible. The main idea of the thesis is to establish the protocol for routine measurements of absorbed dose directly on the patient ( in vivo dosimetry), by using semiconductor diodes. Before clinical use, all relevant parameters of the diodes should be determined. The major part of the thesis covers that issue. The critical part in radiotherapy is to assure exactly the right absorbed dose. Absolute calibration of a linear accelerator was done with high precision, according to the new protocol TRS 398 as discrebed bellow. For better understanding of some clinical results, the depth dose curves for photon energies are also presented. Final chapter of the thesis dcals with the implementation of the method in a daily routine. The action levels we get from the measurements on a limited number of patients, comparing predicted and measured dose, are near the levels established in other radiotherapy centers.
