Abstrakt		Authors described the possibilify of treatment a group of patients suffering low back pain because of degenerated disc disease with an artificial disc prosthesis. We presenfed preliminary results of 35 patients with single and 2 patients with double-level disc replacements using SB Charite III. endoprosthesis. The results were evaluated with VAS and Oswestry Disability Index score. VAS pointed the reduction of preoperatively value mean from 7,5 to 3,7 and Oswestry from 47 preoperatively to 33,5 points postoperatively. Total disc replacement appears to be a viable alternative fo fusion for the treatment of single and double-level symptomatic disc degeneration.
