Abstrakt     Special needs for school reentry after traumatic brain injury depend on several factors. Among them most important are child's previous abilities, severity of injury, quality of rehabilitation program, support for family and home environment including school system and specific school the child is returning to after injury. For most of the children the school reentry program has to be individually adapted, gradually developed through close colaboration of rehabilitation team, family and school. School reentry is a long lasting process because of child's development and recovery long after the injury. Some problems become evident much later due to more demanding school contents and lack of functions that mature later in development. Success in school depends aswell on child's inability to adapte to new situation that can lead to pathological psychosocial reac tions. All experts that are involved in school reentry program have to be aivare of the need for individual adapted school program, regarding child's learning capacity and peer collaboration. Program of school reentry begins already in the phase of early intensive rehabilitation in rehabilitation institution depending on child's age. Possibility to enter school programs together with other children of the same age is namelly one of the most important motivation factors for children and parents and on the other hand failure in school program in many cases leads to dissapointment and serious psychological disturbances.
