Abstrakt | Acute gastroenteritis is one the most common causes of morbidity and mortality in children in the world. More than twenty viral, bacterial, and parasitic enteropotogens are currently associated with acute gastroenteritis. The major clinical symptom is diarrhea. Initial clinical assessment of a child with diarrhea should focus on obtaining an accurate evaluation of hydration and nutritional status. The mojor therapeutic intervention for all individuals with diarrhea consist of fluid and electrolyte therapy. Preventive measures include careful personal hygiene, especially promotion of hand washing . During the period 2000-2004 we hospitalized 1096 patients because of enlerocolitis. We discover the etiology in 54,84% of patients. The most isolate from feces was Salmonella enteritidis. | |
