Abstrakt     The most frequent bacterial and fungal infections in solid organ and bone marrow transplant recipients are presented. There is a different time table of occurrence of specific infections in both groups, due to different mechanism and time schedule of imunnosuppression. The predilection sites for infection in solid organ recipients are those of transplantation procedure. Fungal infections threat bone marrow recipients during entire posttransplantation period. Intensive therapy is additional factor associated with higher rate of hospital acquired infections. Prophylactic use of antibiotics and antimicotics has also changed the frequency of implicated pathogens. Clinical features are usually non specific in transplant recipients. Unfortunately, increasing antibiotic resistance has been observed among pathogens causing infections in posttransplantation period that usually represents a therapeutic challenge.
