Abstrakt | Head injury is the main cause of death in children after trauma. Severe brain injury is serious not only because of possible death but also due to disabilities, which may follow. The aim of early and subsequent treatment is to prevent secondary cerebral hypoxia and ischaemia. The most important are measures to maintain sufficient cerebral perfusion pressure with keeping blood pressure in normal range with isoosmolar fluids and catecholamines and measures to decrease cerebral edema. | |
