Abstrakt     Ishemic and reperfusion damage of the central nervous system at the re-circulation of patient folowing cardiac arrest can be considerably reduced through the use of moderate hypothermia. The paper presents the case of female patient with the first diagnosis of STEMI resuscitated inthe field. On arrival of emegency team the initial rhytm was VF. Following successful setting up of recirculation the patient showing elevations in lateral and lower ECG leads. She was ready for transport to emergency laboratory for reperfusion. During transport the patient was cooled with not warmed up fluids. The clothes of the upper part of her body were taken off and the window was opened. The outside temperature was -3 degrees Celsius. On arrival at the Clinical center Ljubljana, her tympanic temperature was 34 degrees. The coronarography showed normal coronarogram.The patient was admitted to Intensive care, woken up after 24 hours, with no neurological damage. Before leaving the hospital the patient had the AICD implanted.
