Abstrakt		Height and weight measurements are part of a scheduled preventive health visit, during which dynamics of growth and nutrition of an individual child are established. Information about growth and nutrition in the whole population also has a wider meaning for public health. A record of a deviation from the normal enables an early detection of a possibly underlying disorder and its treatment. If no disease is detected, health promotion activity can exert influence on proper nutrition and sufficient physical exercise. The assessment of a childs growth and nutrition requires accurate measurement techniques as well as correct and uniform evaluation of the results.
