Abstrakt		In 2005 the first experimental National Health Accounts for Slovenia were established according the OECD System of Health Accounts manual (2000). This manual was also adopted by the Eurostat. The article presents the methods of compilation of health accounts, reasons for using the financing approach, used sources and main restrictions and difficulties when applying this method in Slovenia. Apart from that, it shows the assessment of applying the provider approach. The article includes a short analysis of the results of pilot Health Accounts data collection in Slovenia, which was performed for 2003, and plans for the further development of National Health Accounts.
