Abstrakt		Local medical treatment with imiquimod an imunomodulator of the local immune system, represents a modern therapeutic approach, which in most cases results in a complete recovery, that is in the disappearance of the basal cell carcinoma, particularly of the superficial type. Combining imiquimod with retinoid acitretine increases the efficacy of imiquimod (1), while at the same time acting preventivelly (2). In the article we present a successful treatment of an unoperable infiltratively growing extensive basal cell carcinoma on the nasal area and its surroundings on a 64-year-old female patient (Phototype II) with a local application of imiquimod and systemic treatment with acitretine. We consider the described treatment of especial importance particularly in cases of inoperable tumors. This kind of treatment is important also from the esthetic point of view.
