Abstrakt     Radiotherapy is the most effective non-surgical mode of therapy for malignant melanoma (MM). Substantial differences in radiosensitivity exist between individual tumors and higher daily fractions (4 Gy) of radiotherapy are more effective. Indications for irradiation in MM are as follows: (1) radical radiotherapy as the first-line therapy of primary tumor, (2) adjuvant radiotherapy after surgery of primary tumor; (3) adjuvant radiotherapy after surgical dissection of regional metastases; and (4) palliative radiotherapy of metastatic disease. In the article, more detailed description of individual indications for irradiation and guidelines for radiotherapy in MM are presented. Radiotherapy is an effective supplement to surgery and, as such, represents unavoidable premise of multidisciplinary management of this diseases.
