Abstrakt | Dental pain is the most frequent orofacial pain, followed by pain of muscular origin. Primary pain is usually relatively silent, the secondary referred pain may constitute the most of complaint. Pains in masticatory musculature are usually not related only to incresed muscular activity but are greatly influenced by central nervous system. Symptoms related with mouth opening and chewing difficulties are tempomandibular disorders. They are divided to tempomandibular muscular pain disorders and tempomandibular join pain disorders. In the following article we will discuss only mascticatory muscular apins. Masticatory muscular apin disorders are devided to two groups, the first group are acute mylagic disorders (protective co-contraction, local muscle soreness and cyclic pain) the second group are chronic mylagic disorders (myospasm, myofascial pain, centrally mediated myalgia and fibromialgia). | |
