Abstrakt		Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a slowly progressive disease characterized by airflow limitation that is not fully reversible. Obstruction of airways in COPD is a result of destruction of lung parenchyma and damage of small airways in various proportions. Diagnosis of COPD based on history, clinical examination and lung function tests. The stage of severity of COPD is defined regarding criteria in GOLD guidelines. The treatment of COPD is based on bronchodilators and antiinflamatory drugs alone or in combinations depending on the severity of the disease.
