Abstrakt     In microtia the fine cartilaginous structure of the external ear is absent or heavily distorted. External ear is a threedimensional structure formed of smouthly curved frame of cartilage covered by adherent thin pliable skin, which when absent, represents a demanding challenge for a plastic surgeon. Best biological material for the framework is patients own cartilage usually taken from his rib arch. Harvesting and modelling is not easy thing to do when we are determined by the shape and size of the ear on the other site. We performed the method of ear reconstruction by using porous polyethylene framework enveloped in vascularised superficial temporal fascia covered by free dermal grafts in two patients with an acceptable outcome.
