Abstrakt     Chronic non-communicable diseases represent the prevailing pathology in the modern world. Therefore the preventive activity in the developed world has been intensified greatly over the last two decades, especially in the area of the early detecting of predictive and risk factors for the onset of the above-mentioned illnesses. Prevention guidelines differ from country to country, which can be seen through different duestionnaires filled by patients prior to preventive examination. My research project aimed at finding out the practicability and applicability of the Belgian prevention test in the preventive activity in my general/family practice in Slovenia. The test's benefits and deficiencies were examined thoroughly and my previous preventive activity was evaluated as well. Following the Belgian guidelines' example and comparing it with the system in Slovenia, our prevention programme needs to be upgraded by introducing the screening, especially for people who are a high risk group for osteoporosis and colorectal cancer. Prevention of falling should not be neglected by no means. Both, Slovenia and Belgium should supplement their existing prevention programmes by implementing the early detecting of the two diseases that have not been included in the programme yet, namely chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and prostate cancer. The Belgian prevention test is easy to use and enables the doctor to evaluate the previous preventive activity and at the same time plan the future preventive measures for high-risk patients.
