Abstrakt     Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) is a complex of human diseases which occur wordwide and are characteristed by fever, renal dysfunction and haemorhagic manifestation. The causative agents of HFRS are Hantaviruses from the Hantavirus genus, belonging to the Bunyaviridae family. Another type of disease is hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS) first described in 1993 in U.S.A.. Reservoir of hantaviruses are rodents: mice, rats and voles which are chronic carriers. Hantavirus infection need to be comfirmed by laboratory tests.
