Abstrakt     Degloving injuries are rare but severe lesions. When presenting in pelvic and trochanteric region, these lesions are also known as Morel-Lavalee lesions and are often associated with pelvic ring fractures. Often, the patient has been exposed to a major trauma and many co-existing injuries with a higher priority divert attention from the degloving injury. In some cases, degloving injuries can be so extensive that they represent the leading reason for the patient's circulatory instability. At the present time, there are no guidelines for the treatment of these injuries and therapy is dependent on the experience and knowledge of the attending doctor. In this article, the authors present a literature overview of these lesions and two case reports. The first is a case of a young woman suffering large skin necrosis after non-diagnosed MorelLavalee lesion and the second one is a case of extremely extensive degloving lesion causing the death of a 65-year-old woman run over by a truck.
