Abstrakt     Acute pain is a wholesome, emotional experience, which appears unexpectedly due to tissue injury, inflammation or disease. The pain and restlessness that accompany the injury affect the sympathetic nerve system, the result of which is a faster pulse, high blood pressure, palenessoi face, heightened perspiration, wide pupils, the patient is scared, worried and in agony. Treating of acute pain is therefore necessary also in emergency medicine, regardless of its source. It represents an important part of patient's medical care. Efficient treating of acute pain from the standpoint of nursing care (MC) is divided into evaluation or control of pain as well as ensuriog comfort and emotional welfare of the patient. The article represents a scheme for pain control, which includes: recognizing pain, frequent measuring of intensity of pain, realistic estimation of pain, the goals for relief the pain, recogniziog side effects of analgesics and the steps to avoid them. The article gives certain principles ofethics, that bind especially nurses which participate in nursing care of patients with acute pain.
