Abstrakt		In developed countries stress has become an inevitable consequence of life, in both, personal and professional life. Professions that are most susceptible to stress are those which deal with people, including nursing staff (especially nurses at the departments, where acutely ill patients are treated). Survey about stress in the working place has been done. It included nurses employed in General Practice Units of Ljubljana Medical Health Care Centre, Emergency Unit of University Medical Centre Ljubljana and Intensive Care Units of University Medical Centre Ljubljana. The survey has shown that nurses are exposed to various stress factors at workplace. The stress at workplace is transferred into their private life differently. The survey also reveals the necessity to prepare educational programs for nurses where they can learn how to prevent stress. Nurses are willing to attend such programs.
