Abstrakt | Background - In surgery acquired bleeding disorders play a greater role than inhereted bleeding disorders. Pre-operative diagnostic is very important. The main steps include history of patients and of his or her family, bleeding disorders in the past, use of anti-platelet drugs which impair platelet function and anticoagulation drugs, which impair the intrinsic pathway of coagulation. Exploration of of the patient history is the best pre-operative diagnostic measure which reduces the time of patient hospitalisation and also reduces use of the blood components. Nowdays a lot of patients use drugs which impair hemostasis. Patients history and discontinuation of drugs before operative treatment reduces number of pre-diagnostic tests and also use of the blood components especially platelets in patients on platelet function impairment drugs and plasma components in patients on anticoagulation drugs. | |
