Abstrakt     People are involved in an incessant dynamic interaction with their environment that is offering numerous opportunities and means for occupation performance. It is constantly inviting us to be active and at the same time mirrors the success of our performance. Within our environment we encounter many demands and limitations that may prevent us from acting successfully within its boundaries. All occupational therapy interventions should consider the opportunities and requirements that originate from the environment, since this is the only way of achieving the main goal of occupational therapy treatment - successful participation of people with psychosis in their primary living environment. The article describes a way towards successful participation of people with psychosis thal starts already with occupational therapy treatment in the hospital environment. Environmental elements that occupational therapists pay regard to in the treatment of people with psychosis are presented. The concept of participation is defined and the role of an occupational therapist in achieving the common goal (participation of people with psychosis in their primary living environment) of a multidisciplinary team is presented.
