Abstrakt     Based on clinical studies ILCOR (International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation) in 2003 published an advisory statement on use of hypothermia (MIH - mild induced hypothermia) after cardiac arrest with VF/pulsless VT as the first rythm (1,2). The method is used in patients that stay in coma after ROSC (return of spontaneous circulation). Indications for MIH are also written in European guidelines for resuscitation 2005 <3). Although MIH has been used for only few years now indications for its use spread fast. It has not been proved useful for patients with asistoly/PEA (pulsless electrical activity) as first rhythm but it is defenitely not harmful therefore it has been in our protocol since begining 2006 (4).
