Abstrakt		A child needing special care and treatment is a child disturbed in his/her normal mental development, blind and weak-sighted child, deaf and partly deaf child, a child with functional failure of vital organs, a child with motoric disability and a child being sick for a longer period of time, who because of his/her condition needs special care and treatment. This contribution presents criteria for classification of children needing special care and treatment.
