Abstrakt     Children with tuberculosis present,from 6 to 15% of all tuberculosis cases in a country. Risk, for active tuberculosis among children is greater than average and also for more svere, forms of tuberculosis. Because children are less often smear-positive for acid fast bacilli on sputum microscopy they are usualy not a priority of national tuberculosis programmes. Worsening of tuberculosis control measures almost immediately results in the increase of tuberculosis in children. Since 2005 Slovenia stopped nonselective vaccination with BCG and contact tracing among children and young adults has become the principal preventive meassure against tuberculosis. The network of paediatricians on the level of regional General hospitals and Pediatric clinic in taking care since 2004. In the years 2001 to 2005 there were 1498 children and young adults examined. The analysis is more demannding and less standardised than in the case of tuberculosis patients. Data is showing that there is a lot of space ,for improvement of guality in contact tracing in children and also in collection and analysis of data.
