Abstrakt		Background: Neonatal convulsions are often the first sign of neurological disease or central nervous system dysfunction. Due to physiological reasons clinical picture of seizures in neonates differs from that observed in older children and adults and seizures are usually symptomatic. Conclusions: Therapy success depends on early recognition of etiology and seizures mechanisms and so does the prognosis regarding epilepsy, motor and cognitive development.
