Abstrakt		The article describes the screening of colonization with Streptococcus agalactiae (GBS) of pregnant women in the Northern Primorska Region that has been going on since 2000. A brief outline of the process of microbiological identification of GBS, the same in both regional microbiological laboratories, is given, and a step-by-step description of procedures from swab taking from the pregnant woman to the laboratory findings, as well as the most common mistakes occurring in these processes.
Izvleček		V prispevku je prikazano sledenje kolonizacije nosečnic s Streptococcus agalactiae (GBS), ki poteka v severnoprimorski regiji že od leta 2000. Na kratko je naveden tudi potek mikrobiološke identifikacije GBS, ki je enak v obeh regijskih mikrobioloških laboratorijih. Na pregleden način je prikazana pot kužnine - brisa od nosečnice do izvida mikrobiološke preiskave ter najpogostejše napake na tej poti glede na navedene smernice.
