Abstrakt		Authoress presents the characteristics of post-traumatic stress syndrome in childhood. Above all she uses the most recent sources from American proffessional literature. She ascertains that in the Slovenian spare, the interest for syndrome was triggered by war in Slovenia and by war circumstances in other regions of former Yugoslavia. The recognizing of syndrome, preventive measures and therapeutic approaches are important also for peacetime circumstances, a great number of children being exposed to extremely traumatic experiences at the occasion of traffic and other accidents, physical and sex violence and other exceptionally stressful events.
