Abstrakt     Between January 1982 and December 1988, 20 patients were acute allergic interstitial neohritis were seen. The onset of renal failure was temporally related to the use of a drug: antibiotics or antimicrobial agents (in 18 patients) and non-steroidal antiinflammatory agents (in two pts). Clinical features such as fever, rush, hematuria, pyria with or without eosinophiluria and proteinuria had led to suspicion of the disease. The diagnosis was confirmed by renal biopsy findings. Haevy renal uptake of gallium 67 was noted in most patients. All the patients had acute renal failure at presentation. Five patients required hemodialysis. Steroid therapy was used in fourteen patients. Nineteen patients out of 20 recovered. Plasma - creatinine was normal in thirteen patients or slightly increased in six. One patient didn't recover renal function and remained dialysis dependent.
