Abstrakt | | The last twenty years have witnessed substantial advances in facial fracture treatment. As a rule, treatment of these fractures is now surgical, as it has proven to be more precise, quicker and more reliable than conservative treatment. Mechanisms of facial fractures, surgical approaches to the facial skeleton, stabilization by means of osteosynthesis i.e. internal fixation, as well as novelties in facial fracture treatment at the Department of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery, are described.
