Abstrakt		The article discussed the role and the value of rehabilitation engineering. In rehabilitation, especially in cases of most severely disabled persons, technical aids and rehabilitation technology are indispensable. They provide an adequate level of compensation of severe disability or impairment and thus enable their users to integrate into the environment and reach higher quality of live. The latter statement is all the more grounded with the fast development of rehabilitation technique and technology and the development of technical branches of profession at large.
Izvleček		Članek predstavi vlogo in pomen rehabilitacijskega in eniringa. V rehabilitaciji, posebej najtežje prizadetih oseb, je nepogrešljiva pomoč tehničnih pripomočkov in rehabilitacijske tehnologije, saj le s pomočjo le-teh dosežemo primerno stopnjo kompenzacije težke prizadetosti oziroma oviranosti in na ta način omogočimo vključevanje teh oseb v družbo in jim izboljšamo kvaliteto življenja. Slednja trditev velja še toliko bolj ob hitrem razvoju rehabilitacijske tehnike in tehnologije in razvoju tehničnih strok nasploh.
